The South Seas plays jazz standards, Hawaiian instrumentals, Western swing, and mid-century pop — mostly tunes written between 1935 and 1965. The lead instrument is a 1958 Fender Stringmaster lap steel, with Fender Rhodes, guitar, and bass behind it.
The result is instrumental and easy to talk over.
Available as a duo, trio, or quartet for private events, wineries, receptions, and community events throughout Western Washington.
A set moves through jazz standards, Hawaiian classics, and Western swing from the same mid-century sensibility. Sets can lean more Hawaiian, more jazz, or more Western swing depending on the room.
